The membership of the society is open to all individuals, institutions connected with or in the practice of Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering or its application to practical engineering problems as per conditions mentioned in Article 4.3. Categories of MembershipInstitution Membership Qualification for Membership Institution Membership: The institution membership is open to all institutions connected with Design, Research and Construction in the field of Soil mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering or any other activities for the promotion of the science as such. Individual Membership. The individual membership shall be for those persons in the practice of Soil Mechanics and Geological Engineering and in addition holding the corporate membership of the Ghana Institute of Engineers. Associate Membership. Associate membership shall be for those individuals who are not corporate members of the Ghana Institute of Engineers. Student Membership. Student Membership is open to all students of recognized Degree/Diploma Engineering colleges or post-graduate courses. Subscriptions (a) The annual subscriptions of the society will be for the calender year and will be payable on the 1st January of each year. (b) The rates of subscription for the different categories of membership are given in the bye laws to the constitution. Privaleges of the Members All members are entitled to participate in the meetings of the Ghana Geotechnical Society and Receive publications of the society free of charge as under: (a) Institution members 3 copies of the journal issued by the society (b) Individual/Associate members 1 copy of the journal issued by the society (c) student members 1 copy of the journal issued by the society.
